YOUR MUNDELEIN DENTIST
Hello! My name is Dr. David Markiewicz, and I am thrilled that you’ve taken the time to learn a little bit about me! I am honored to be a part of Markiewicz Dental of Mundelein, a family dental practice that’s been providing quality care for patients in our community since my father, Dr. Anthony Markiewicz, opened its doors in 1988.
At our office, the phrasing “Family Dental Practice” holds special significance. Not only is our practice family operated, but the staff and patients have become an extended part of our family because of the experiences we’ve shared together. I am privileged and honored to serve a community that has given so much to me.
May I be the first to welcome you to our family!
Illinois has always been home for me. I grew up right here in Mundelein, where I was a proud Corsair while attending Carmel Catholic High School. I then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Loyola University Chicago before achieving my Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry.
Although my formal dental training was completed, I am always looking to further my abilities in order to provide our patients with the best care possible. I consistently take continuing education courses to stay up-to-date with the latest technology and advances in dentistry.
I have received additional training from the world-renown Spear Education center and am an active member in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois Dental Society.
Besides being a proud son of Tony and Elizabeth Markiewicz, I am also a newly proud husband! My wife and I met in the halls of Carmel Catholic High School at the age of fourteen and recently were married after nine years of dating. Feel free to watch our wedding video to get an insight into our family and our special relationship!

We are blessed owners of an adorable Burmese cat named Gatsby. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy reading, writing, and running. I am a 5x finisher of the Chicago Marathon, which I ran each time with the Crossroads Runners Team from Old St. Patricks Church in Chicago. Over the course of the past five years with Crossroads Runners, I’ve raised over $8,000 to help eradicate poverty in Chicago. When I’m not in Illinois, I love spending time among the trees and in the water in Minocqua, Wisconsin. I also enjoy scuba diving, skiing, and watching my Loyola Ramblers men’s basketball team! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me before your next appointment. I can’t wait to get to know you real soon!
