THE FIRST VISIT IS ALL ABOUT YOU: YOUR HAPPINESS, COMFORT, AND COMPLETE DENTAL WELLNESS.
WHAT ARE THE COMPONENTS OF A DENTAL EVALUATION?
Optimal oral health means the lack of dental disease, namely:
- Absence of infection (tooth and gum)
- Absence of inflammation (gingivitis and/or periodontitis)
- Absence of tooth decay
- Absence of failing restorations
- Absence of precancerous or cancerous growths
- Absence or control of parafunction (grinding or clenching)
- Adequate natural teeth or adequate restored missing teeth to allow proper eating, speech, and aesthetics
- Healthy breathing
The goal of a dental evaluation is to establish your dental health baseline. Once we understand your level of health, we can make recommendations to help you improve and maintain your oral health.
During your visit, you can expect us to complete:
- A review of your health history
- Blood pressure screening
- Necessary digital X-rays
- Necessary images and photographs
- Enhanced oral cancer screening
- Evaluation and discussion of your oral hygiene
- Periodontal (gum) evaluation
- Evaluation of your restorations and teeth
- Evaluation of your bite
- Discussion of your sleep
Once completed, we will review the current state of your oral health and discuss recommendations to improve and maintain your oral health.
On your first visit to our office, bring your smile, but also please remember to bring:
- Your completed health history forms
- Your insurance card
- Driver’s License
